This month’s blog is all about a Mid-CenturyModern refresh we did for a client who has a really crazy schedule! It’s so important to me as a Designer to really meet my client’s where they are at, and that includes their lifestyle as well. This client is a physician who runs her own practice, so when I say we only saw her three times throughout the entire process, we really did! But you know what, we relied on our digital communication to help her to see the vision we were proposing, without talking face to face. The execution was on point and I am very proud of how it turned out.
We didn’t want to change the structure of the home, as we were all already in love with it’s quirky features, but we did want to accent them well. We switched out light fixtures, and used quite a few from Arteriors which was the perfect vendor for a job that needed a modern twist.
For the Dining Room we found the perfect MCM light fixture that would add drama and statement to the furnishings we provided. Don’t ever underestimate the power of artwork and botanicals in a Dining Room either…they make such an impact!
For the Powder Bath, we added a funky palm wallpaper and did a black hex on her floor. We also did a custom vanity and some fun accent lighting. Talk about a fun bathroom for your friends to use!
And last but not least, for the Game Room, we added a custom Pool Table, a fabulous light fixture, and some additional furniture pieces to make this a great hang out space. Styling was key in a space like this.
For the Breakfast Area, we added a custom banquette seat that not only added a fun fabric and leather for the seat, but also a nice wood tone that coordinates with their existing warm, golden wood tones in the house. The lighting, table and seating added a perfect compliment to this usable little space.
for the Living Room, we worked with her existing sofa and added some fun pillows, accessories, and some mid-century artwork. Color and pattern were key here.
I’m proud of this space and the unique flare it took on. It’s fun working with someone who really trusts the vision, and just lets you run with it. I hope you enjoy!
