Project Spotlight: Transitional Glam Master Bedroom & Bathroom Remodel

I am excited to share this gorgeous transformation of a Master Bedroom and Bathroom with you! Before we completely remodeled this space, the overall design was highly feminine and traditional. I knew I wanted the rooms to have a more transitional glam feel for her, but it was also important that we didn’t forget the masculine aspects for him.

In the Master Bedroom, we started out with sage green walls, painted cherry blossom trees, and heavy cabinetry. To bring in masculinity, but also keep her in mind, I had a vision of dark walls, high contrasting ceilings, and open shelving. People are often scared of going dark on the walls but it creates a more dramatic moody feel, and anything you put on the walls will POP! We even went dark for the slab behind the fireplace and you can see it still brings a great contrast with the white ceilings. In order to not make the room too heavy, we brought in metallics and color with the accessories. I absolutely love how this one turned out!

The Master Bathroom was overall very traditional. They started out with heavy textures and cabinetry, and sage color on the walls . We knew that we wanted to keep the high contrast going from the Bedroom and transition it into the Bathroom. To open up the space we went with a large format tile for the floor, a freestanding tub, quartz on the walls, and open shelving.

Why Open Shelving?

Open shelving is one of my favorite ways to spruce up a space! Instead of heavy cabinets on both the uppers and lowers we went with cabinets just on the lowers because you really don’t need all of that storage.

Clean Quartz Walls

One of the things he wanted was a lot of stone, so we wrapped the walls in quartz for a custom feel. I’m all for using quartz because you get a clean look and it’s easy to clean.

As with any project it takes time for trust to be built with my initial suggestions. That’s why it was important to hear from both the husband and wife, to make sure we were nailing down a design they would both love.

This project was definitely one for the books and I can’t help but swoon over the finished design!
